AI crypto investors backed 18 rounds into 15 AI companies from 1 July to 27 October 2026, and the 11 rounds that disclosed an amount came to $317.6M. 44 backers are named across them, 32 firms and 12 angels, with Amber Group and NVIDIA Venture Capital in 3 rounds each, more than any other firm.
Data as of 27 October 2026, from NAUT's funding records. The scope is venture, incubation and strategic rounds into AI companies that crypto investors back: agent payments, AI trading infrastructure, decentralised training, AI data networks and robotics data. Most of these teams are crypto-native, and 1 is not: Mecka is an AI robotics data company whose cap table includes crypto funds. Every round with an outside announcement is checked against that announcement and, where a second report exists, against that report too, with every link listed under Sources; 7 rounds are recorded only in NAUT's own data and are marked as such. 1 further AI round in this window sits on a company record that is being corrected, so it is left out. NAUT Research wrote this report, and nobody paid for it.

4 of the 18 rounds named a lead: MH Ventures at NeoSoul, Sequoia Capital at Mecka, Robot Ventures at Nous Research, and Lattice with Dispersion Capital co-leading Dataline.
Every date above is the date the round was announced, which can sit months after the money landed. The last column lists the backers NAUT has recorded for each round, so a round can have more participants than the ones shown. Infini's seed is one case: the PYMNTS announcement names 6 firms, and 4 of them are on NAUT. Names follow NAUT's own entity records, so SNZ Holding appears as SNZ Capital in the press coverage of that round.
Who backed each company, and what does it build?
Prime Intellect runs a decentralised AI training protocol. Its $130M Series A on 8 July is the largest round in the window, with NVIDIA Venture Capital participating.
Nous Research builds open models and agents as a decentralised AI company. Robot Ventures led its $90M Series B on 7 October, joined by Union Square Ventures (USV), M12, Y Combinator, Menlo Ventures, NVIDIA Venture Capital and SamsungNext.
Mecka builds a data layer for AI robotics, and crypto funds sit on its cap table: Framework Ventures led its earlier Series A and came back for the $60M Series B announced on 7 October, which Sequoia Capital led, with NVIDIA Venture Capital, M12, Qualcomm, Samsung, Kindred Ventures and Neo.
NeoSoul builds an AI agent trading ecosystem. MH Ventures led its $11M pre-Series A on 20 August, with Amber Group, ArkStream Capital and CatcherVC.
Dataline is a data lifeline for onchain AI agents. Lattice and Dispersion Capital co-led its $10.6M seed, announced on 21 October, with Coinbase Ventures, Anagram Crypto and Symbolic Capital.
AIsa runs an AI agent payment network. It raised a $6.5M seed on 3 July, then took a strategic investment from Tether on 15 October.
Infini is an AI-powered financial platform. Its $6M seed on 22 September came from SNZ Holding, NextGen Digital Venture, Reforge VC and Enlight Capital.
PonyGo aggregates Web3 financial services and runs an AI vertical. Blockin Venture put $2M into its strategic round on 20 September.
XStable builds AI-native infrastructure for onchain gold and FX trading. It took a $0.5M incubation on 25 August, then a round on 22 September backed by YZi Labs, CatcherVC, Taisu Ventures and Sui Foundation.
De¹ builds a financial world model for AI and DeFi. Its 25 August incubation was $0.5M, with no backer recorded on NAUT.
FinTax runs crypto finance, tax and AI infrastructure. It took a $0.5M incubation on 25 August, then a seed on 27 August backed by Amber Group.
4DLabs is an embodied data layer for physical AI. YZi Labs incubated it on 11 September.
Travix is an AI compute omnibroker. Amber Group backed its seed on 21 September.
Grass is a network sharing application that sells AI training data. Multicoin Capital invested on 29 September.
REP builds portable identity and connections for people, AI agents and businesses. Its 17 September angel round drew 12 individual backers: Pavel Altukhov, Kevin Tang, Ivan Paskar, Anton Bukov, Suji Yan, ivangbi, Lyuben Belov, Evgeniy Medvedev, Nata Cui, Nemo Cerovac, Nick Stoev and Zurab Kazhiloti.
How much did each AI and DeFAI startup raise?
Prime Intellect, Nous Research and Mecka took $280M of the $317.6M disclosed, 88% of it. The 7 rounds with no amount are FinTax's seed, 4DLabs's incubation, REP's angel round, Travix's seed, XStable's September round, Grass's round and AIsa's strategic round.
Which backers appear in more than 1 round?
Amber Group and
NVIDIA Venture Capital each backed 3 rounds, more than any other firm. Amber Group is in NeoSoul, FinTax and Travix, all of them smaller AI and DeFi teams in Asia. NVIDIA Venture Capital is in Prime Intellect, Mecka and Nous Research, the 3 largest rounds in the window.- 3 firms backed 2 rounds each. YZi Labs is in 4DLabs and XStable, CatcherVC in NeoSoul and XStable, and M12 in Mecka and Nous Research.
- Chip and device makers show up directly. Qualcomm and Samsung backed Mecka, SamsungNext backed Nous Research, and NVIDIA Venture Capital backed all 3 of the biggest rounds, so hardware money is in 3 of these 18 AI funding rounds.
What this tells a BD team
- 12 of the 15 companies raised $11M or less, or did not disclose. Those teams buy in small sizes and decide fast. The 3 that raised $60M or more, Prime Intellect, Nous Research and Mecka, are the budgets for infrastructure, compute and robotics data.
- 7 rounds were incubations, angel or strategic checks. XStable, De¹, FinTax and 4DLabs came through incubation, REP through 12 angels, and AIsa and PonyGo through strategic investors, so the people to reach there are the incubator and the angels as much as the founders.
- 3 companies raised twice in these 4 months. AIsa, FinTax and XStable each closed 2 rounds in the window, which is the clearest signal of a team that is spending.
- Split by cheque size3 teams raised $280M between them, the other 12 raised $37.6M or did not disclose.

What this tells an AI founder raising now
- DeFAI funding runs through a short list of firms. Amber Group, YZi Labs and CatcherVC backed 5 of the 18 rounds between them, and all 3 write into AI and DeFi crossover teams.
- Only 4 rounds named a lead. MH Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Robot Ventures, Lattice and Dispersion Capital are the 5 firms that took that seat, so most of these rounds were assembled from several cheques.
- Strategic money is available at every size. Tether invested in AIsa, Sui Foundation backed XStable, and SamsungNext, M12 and NVIDIA Venture Capital came into Nous Research's $90M Series B, with Qualcomm and Samsung in Mecka's $60M Series B.
