Crypto VC funding Q3 2026 came to $3.17B on NAUT's own record: 142 of the 192 crypto capital events NAUT holds for 1 July to 30 September 2026 are classic venture rounds, and the 105 of those that disclosed an amount raised $3,173.6M. Galaxy Research published a different pair of numbers for the same quarter, $4.519B across 296 deals, and CryptoRank's own Q3 report counted 127 venture rounds with $2.62B disclosed.
Data read from NAUT's funding records on 29 October 2026. The window is 1 July to 30 September 2026. NAUT holds 198 rounds dated inside it; 6 fall out under NAUT's crypto scope rule (general AI, compute and biotech rounds whose own descriptions carry no crypto tie), leaving 192 crypto capital events. Each of the 15 largest venture rounds was put to outside reports: 4 were confirmed with the quote found on the page, 7 were confirmed against a report the checker could not fetch a second time, 2 matched on the amount and differed on a label or a day, and 2 (Prime Intellect and Gauntlet) rest on NAUT's record alone, because the quote the check looked for was not on the page it read. The 3 rows where a source disagrees with NAUT are set out under the table. NAUT Research wrote this report and nobody paid for it.
Crypto VC funding Q3 2026: what NAUT's own count holds
Of the 192 crypto capital events in the window, 142 are venture rounds and 50 are something else. The 50 break down as 33 M&A deals, 6 post-IPO raises, 5 debt financings, 2 private token sales, 2 PIPEs, 1 IPO and 1 OTC purchase.
The money sits lopsidedly. Across all 192 events, 128 disclosed an amount and those add up to $16,569.1M. Strip the 50 non-venture events out and the 105 disclosed venture rounds come to $3,173.6M, so 81% of the quarter's disclosed dollars in NAUT's full record sit in events a venture tracker should never count.
Inside the 142 venture rounds, 37 disclosed no amount. The round labels NAUT carries are led by Strategic at 39 of the 192, then M&A at 33, Incubation at 27 and Seed at 26. Only 11 rows are labelled Series A, 1 is a Series B and 4 are Series C.

The round labels and the backers are NAUT's record and nothing wider. Where a row carries several firms, the cell names the first on the row and counts the rest; the full lists are in the FAQ below. 5 of these 15 rounds carry a backer on NAUT today. The outside reports under Sources name investors for most of the other 10, and those names are not on the NAUT rows yet: Citadel Securities put the $400M into Crypto.com, Tiger Global led Augustus's $180M, SBI Holdings was the sole investor in Gauntlet's $125M, Nasdaq Ventures put the $100M into Payward, SBI Holdings led EDX Markets's $76M, Bain Capital Tech Opportunities led RQD* Clearing's $74M, SBI Group led Fasset's $68M and Dragonfly led Venice Token's $65M. A blank backer cell means NAUT holds no firm on that row.
3 rows carry a disagreement. NAUT's own source check marked Venice Token's $65M as differing from its cited report on the round label and ORANGE JUICE's $40M seed as differing on the announcement day, with both amounts matching. Kaiko's row is the third: NAUT records $57M, and the SiliconANGLE report read on 29 October 2026 puts the new money at $53M and describes the deal as an extension of a $57M Series B that Kaiko first closed in 2022, with S&P Global leading and Nasdaq Ventures, Coinbase Ventures and BNP Paribas joining. The EU.VC write-up of the same deal is headlined "Kaiko adds $57m to Series B for onchain market data". The table above shows NAUT's $57M, so every total built on it carries the same caveat. That is the shape most tracker disagreements take.
How much crypto VC funding did each company raise?
These 15 rounds hold $2,515M, 79% of the $3,173.6M disclosed by all 105 venture rounds that named an amount. The other 90 disclosed rounds share $658.6M between them, an average of $7.3M each.
Why do crypto VC funding Q3 2026 totals differ by tracker?
Galaxy Research reported $4.519B across 296 deals for Q3 2026, down 20% in capital and 24% in deal count quarter over quarter, and $14,537M across 1,040 deals for the year to date. CryptoRank's own Q3 report counted 127 venture rounds and $2.62B of disclosed investment and left undisclosed amounts out of that total, as reported by TokenPost in its 29 October 2026 write-up of both reports. TokenPost says the 2 counts are hard to compare directly because the trackers differ on the data they collect, how they classify a deal and how they treat disclosed amounts. NAUT's Q3 venture count sits between them at 142 rounds and $3,173.6M disclosed.
The 5 lines below are NAUT's own explanation of how its own count was built, from NAUT's record. They describe the crypto funding rounds Q3 2026 produced as NAUT holds them, and they are not an account of how Galaxy Research or CryptoRank built their figures.
- What counts as a deal. NAUT's raw Q3 record has 192 crypto capital events. 33 of them are M&A, including OpenRouter at $7,000M, and another 17 are post-IPO raises, debt, PIPEs, token sales, an IPO and an OTC purchase. Folding any of those in would lift NAUT's own total far above its venture-only figure.
- Debt and treasury raises. Alpaca took $300M of debt on 16 July, lent by Payward, the parent of the Kraken exchange, alongside a Canadian bank. ZeroStack signed a $1,000M share and warrant deal for MemeCore tokens on 19 August. Strategy raised $333.7M through common stock sales in 1 week of August and $544.5M in 1 week of July. None of that is venture capital, and all of it shows up in a crypto funding feed.
- The undisclosed tail. 37 of NAUT's 142 venture rounds named no amount, so a dollar total is always a floor. NAUT's 105 disclosed rounds average $30.2M with a median of $6.5M. On the published pairs, Galaxy's 296 deals average $15.3M and CryptoRank's 127 rounds average $20.6M, which is arithmetic on their published totals.
- Where the line sits on early money. 27 of NAUT's 192 rows are labelled Incubation. Counting an incubation as a round keeps them in; dropping them takes NAUT's venture count from 142 to 115 on that call alone.
- Scope on adjacent sectors. 6 rounds dated inside the window were set aside here because their own company descriptions carry no crypto tie. Reading an AI infrastructure round as a crypto round would put them back and make NAUT's quarter bigger.
For crypto venture capital 2026 as a whole, Galaxy's year to date figure of $14,537M across 1,040 deals is the widest published view, and NAUT's per-round pages are where a reader checks any single line of it.
On the fetching itself: CryptoRank's funding rounds, insights and funding analytics pages each returned a Cloudflare challenge page to NAUT's fetch on 29 October 2026, and RootData's fundraising page returned a captcha page with 0 data rows, so neither tracker's own table was read here. CryptoRank's news feed did load and is cited under Sources for ADI, and CryptoRank's Q3 pair of numbers above comes from TokenPost's report. RootData's published Q3 totals are not tested here.
What this tells a BD team
- The buyers with fresh money are mid-sized and specific. 12 of the 15 largest rounds are between $40M and $130M, from Yellow Card and ORANGE JUICE at $40M up to Prime Intellect at $130M, which is the band where a company hires, buys tools and signs vendors without a procurement committee.
- Market plumbing raised harder than apps did. EDX Markets ($76M), RQD* Clearing ($74M), Kaiko ($57M) and ADI ($50M) all sell to institutions, so a seller into exchanges, brokers or banks has 4 newly funded accounts in 1 quarter.
- Payments and emerging markets are live. Jeeves ($110M), Yellow Card ($40M) and Fasset ($68M) each moved money across borders.
- Most of the quarter's dollars are in deals with no buying signal. The 33 M&A events and 6 post-IPO raises in NAUT's record mean a feed sorted by size alone will send you at an acquirer or a treasury vehicle. Sort by round type first.
- Filter to venture rounds142 of NAUT's 192 Q3 crypto events are venture rounds; the other 50 are M&A, debt, PIPEs, token sales and stock sales.
- Pick the $40M to $130M band12 of the 15 largest rounds sit there, from Yellow Card at $40M to Prime Intellect at $130M.

What this tells a founder raising now
- $1,000M of the quarter went to 1 company. Polymarket's raise is 31% of all disclosed venture dollars in NAUT's Q3 record. The median of the 105 disclosed venture rounds is $6.5M, and outside the top 15 the average is $7.3M.
- Strategic is the most common round label in the quarter. 39 of the 192 rows carry it, ahead of Seed at 26 and Series A at 11. Crypto.com ($400M), Payward ($100M), RQD* Clearing ($74M), ADI ($50M) and Yellow Card ($40M) all closed one, which means corporates and exchanges are writing the biggest cheques outside pure venture.
- A long backer list is rare. Jeeves (11 firms on NAUT) and Kaiko (9 firms) are the 2 outliers among the 15; 5 of the 15 carry any backer on NAUT at all. Build the list from each round's own coverage, then check it against the firm's NAUT page.
- Exchanges, banks and data houses are on cap tables. Coinbase Ventures is on 2 of the 15 rounds, Jeeves and Kaiko. Kaiko alone pulled in S&P Global, BNP Paribas, DRW Venture Capital and Bpifrance.
- Find the only repeat backer on NAUT's recordCoinbase Ventures is on 2 of the 15 largest Q3 rounds, Jeeves at $110M and Kaiko at $57M.

How to reach the decision makers
Every company and investor named here links to its page on NAUT, and each page carries the team, the backers and the people to contact. The fastest route through this quarter is to open a round's company page, read the team list, then open each backer's page to see who else they funded in the same stretch. 22 investor firms appear on the 5 rounds that carry a backer on NAUT's record, counting Coinbase Ventures once for the 2 rounds it sits on; the rows with no backer on file are the ones worth filling in from the coverage linked under Sources.
Can you pull this data through the NAUT API?
Yes. Every fund in this article is in NAUT's developer API as JSON, the same records the pages show. GET https://api.naut.so/v1/investors?sort=portfolio&limit=100 returns the funds on NAUT ranked by portfolio size, 100 a page, each with its type, links and portfolio count, for 5 credits a call. A key with no credits gets clearly marked sample data, so you can build against it first. Plans start at $49 a month for 3,000 credits (pricing), and the API docs list every endpoint.
